Who ever runs the government, always the State Awards are the most funniest ones. I guess, the problem is not with the government but with the "eminent" jury that comprises of Mohan, director S.P. Muthuraman, Sivakumar, Charuhaasan, Deva, and Sripriya .
The presence of Sivakumar has been very efficient, as he has made sure that Ghajini bagged as much awards as possible in 2005 and Paruthiveeran got early awards for 2006, while lot many good films have released before that.
Now lets have a look at the comedy awards of 2005:
Best Storywriter | Karu Pazhaniappan (Sathurangam) |
Character Artiste | Rajkiran (Male) (Sandai Kozhi |
Best Actor | Rajnikanth (Chandramukhi) |
2006's awards are more hilarious:
Best Storywriter | Perarasu (Thirupathy) |
Best Actor | Kamal Haasan (Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu) |
Best Film | Second: Paruthiveeran |
Best Actor (Special Prize) | Karthi (Paruthiveeran) |
Best Actress | Priya Mani (Paruthiveeran) |
Finally this is the ultimate!!!
Best Villain | Pasupathy (E) |
My God!! Pasupathy had a positive role in "E" that no where is in the villain genre. Aasish Vidhyaarthi was the villan of E!!
The review of "E" says: "As usual Ashish Vidyarthy plays a baddie. A tailor-made role for him, which he does with aplomb. But the pick of the movie is Pasupathy, who launches a crusade against poor Indians being made 'Guinea Pigs' by international pharmaceutical firms. He even lays down his life for the cause. His role is very powerful and potent."
God knows what the jury saw in any of the films!!!

Choo, in Thuklak, drew a cartoon implying just 2 persons of entire Tamil Industry missed to be on the list of Awardees.
Well, For Rajini & Kamal, it could ve been named better. Life time achievement sort of title for Rajini and Kamal shd ve been given for VasoolRaja MBBS instead (hehehe Sarcastic one). They should ve spotted Virumandi instead.
Thanks for writing this.
